Mud Mask Monday - Cucumber & Clary Sage

Mud Mask Monday
Cucumbers & Clary Sage

This simple refreshing mask is ideal for normal to oily skin types.

1 Tbsp. Greek Yogurt
1 Tbsp. Fullers Clay
5 thin slices of peeled cucumber
5 drops Clary Sage Essential Oil

Ready? Chop Chop! Cut and mash until you come up with he consistency that is right for you.

Yogurt Did you miss last weeks mash? I have left over yogurt....using it today! Jump back to last Mondays Mask - Going Bananas

Cucumber are pure magic. First thing I think of is ladies lying in a spa, hair up in a white towel with fresh cut cucumbers over the eyes. Cucumbers contain flavonoids and antioxidants that decrease swelling, redness and irritation as well as a fantastic cooling effect which helps shrink dilated blood puffy eyes! But wait! They work well for the skin too!  The cleaning and cleansing property helps your skin tremendously making it soft and supple and Cucumbers contain vitamin C and caffeic acid, two antioxidants that when applied to skin, help fend off wrinkles and sun damage. Spend a little too much time outside last weekend? For some sunburn relief, simply apply thin slices to the skin and wait approximately 15 minuets.

Clary Sage mmmmmm Clary Sage. One of my top 5 favorite essential oils. Clary Sage is known as one of the most relaxing, soothing, and balancing essential oils when used aromatically and internally. Clary Sage oil has antibacterial, anti inflammatory, antiseptic and astringent properties and stimulates blood circulation to the surface of the skin making Clary Sage a perfect choice for people with oily skin or acne. Clary Sage also promotes skin cell regeneration making it a super star when it comes to fighting off wrinkles and premature aging skin....a personal worry of mine as I love to bask in the sun.

Clary sage is also AMAZING for your hair! You can add a few drops to your shampoo or conditioner as well as make a heat protective spray to accommodate your flat iron or curler. This herbal addition will leave your hair smelling fantastic all while providing benefits that will leave your hair looking strong, beautiful, silky and smooth.

Fullers Clay also know as Fuller’s Earth is recommended for people with oily skin since it can be quite drying—but it wouldn’t hurt for normal skin if used no more than once a week (Mondays) This natural clay can help remove dead skin cells allowing your lovely skin to breathe better.

How's this selfie? I'm getting better right? RIGHT??

This mask ranked pretty high for me. The combination of cool cucumbers and frigid yogurt felt amazing on my warm is summer after all. The mask went on smoothly and was the perfect consistency. Now, the Clary Sage really topped this mash off for me....I just love the scent! It's refreshing yet calming and just plain out a well balanced scent. Make sure you have a little time to do this mask as the cucumber and yogurt keep it pretty wet. Wash off was a breeze and my skin felt great and looked fantastic afterwards.

20 minuets in - getting crusty - may favorite part!

Sorry for the short right up! I've had a sick toddler on my hands...this was a nap time feature. Try it out and please feel free to critique!
